Augustine of Hippo may not have advocated heavy drinking sessions, but the goings on here seem rather more docile than debauched. A stalwart of the keller scene, the Augustiner has been a popular port of call with travellers and locals since 1857. Track it down beneath the Albertina, where you may encounter a roving band of musicians jamming some accordion grooves. From the menu you can try all the typical sturdy Austrian classics. Meanwhile, this being an old school heuriger, it's a good opportunity to get acquainted with some Austrian wines.
