Wander over to Heiner if you're after an old school choice without the dizzy hordes of day-trippers that storm Demel or Cafe Central. L. Heiner has traditions stretching all the way back to 1840, and it belonged to that hallowed group of K.und K. establishments that won the imperial seal of approval. Their Konditorei at Wollzeile boasts a dainty salon for coffee and cakes, whilst upstairs there's a more spacious room where you can order a light lunch for very reasonable prices. Order your cakes at the counter, where you'll also be confronted by a fantastical assortment of marzipan marvels.
