Zum Schwarzen Kameel

|
'At the Black Camel' is a Viennese institution that's been around since 1618. Extraordinarily enough, it's remained in the same hands all those years. However, they don't ladle on the baroque here - the muted, wood-panelled decor lends the local a homely air, and it's clear that the Black Camel is in fact something of a second home to many Viennese. Don't expect to see too many chaps sporting mohicans, this is a decidedly old school affair that's awash with ruddy-faced fellows in search of hair of the dog. The delicatessen offers an irresistable array of canapes - just the right thing for a Saturday morning brunch. For more substantial fare, head next door to the main restaurant pictured above. |
