Pavilion Restaurant

|
If you're visiting Schonbrunn Palace or the accompanying zoo, this ravishing retreat is a handy haunt to bear in mind. Set within the grounds of the zoo itself, the Pavilion restaurant is proudly ensconced in a former imperial teahouse. Many an emperor has enjoyed his afternoon cup in this opulent den. Look up from your schnitzel and you'll see swirling baroque frescoes on the ceiling (and perhaps some escaped gibbons swinging from the chandelier). The setting may be lavish but the prices aren't terrifying - you'd pay thrice the price for such a venue in central town. |
