** We can't quite come to terms with the fact that this magical old place has gone after so many years, so we're keeping the page up as a memento... Thank you for indulging us...! ** You could well imagine Louis Jourdan's character from Letter from an Unknown Woman enjoying a dinner here, with a lady companion needless to add. The low-lit corner room - all green baize and turn of the century sketches, seems to have survived unchanged since the days of Franz Joseph. Thankfully, the food is usually pretty good as well: you can expect hearty Austro-Hungarian nosh - bubbling pots of goulash and creamy sauces galore. In Winter especially, you'll feel utterly cocooned from the world outside, a factor which the Viennese cultivate above all others. |
