Saunter through the gateway of the Kinsky Palace and settle in for some sumptuous Viennese cuisine. Wirthaus serves up much-loved classics with a modern twist. And besides reworking local dishes, the restaurant is an indefatigable champion of Austrian wines - the walls here are lined with tempting bottles that have been chivvied out from the Wachau and elsewhere. The interior is a cheerily elegant ensemble, but when the weather's on form, the most sought after tables will be in the palace courtyard. The Kinsky clan sold the building as late as 1987, and it's one of the grandest in the entire Innere Stadt.
