Out of the ashes of the Phoenix cinema comes this bird of bright feathers. Phoenix styles itself as a supper club, where diners sample fusion fare in space age surroundings. But at midnight the doors are thrown open and the party kicks off. Blokes in bizarre costumes provide visual distractions whilst a crazed computer boffin orchestrates an extraordinarily varied light show with all the colours of the rainbow. It certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, and like all places that become fashionable fast, it could disappear without trace. |
