Squirreled away in the heart of the Innere Stadt, Gigerl offers an old-fashioned intro to the Viennese way. This being a fairly classic Heuriger, you can expect an abundance of wine as well as some salady snacks for the peckish. Queue up for the food at the counter and take your pick from a range of salami, gherkin and artichoke options. If you feel like something a bit more substantial, salvation comes in the shape of a schnitzel. Prices are moderate, and although Gigerl seems a popular spot with travellers, locals come too, a sign that something must be right. |
