Vienna Airport Revives In Steps

Vienna airport resumed flight operations on Monday 19th, amidst the chaos caused by Iceland's volcanic eruption. However, whilst services due east are largely unaffected, the western bound flow of air traffic is still problematic.

Europe was plunged into pandemonium as a result of the black cloud that unfurled across Europe. About 50 international delegations cancelled their plans to attend the funeral of Polish President Lech Kaczynski on Sunday. President of Austria Heinz Fischer was amongst those who abandoned their plans to attend, although some observers credited this more to the oncoming presidential campaign, in which Mr Fischer is lagging behind.

For full updates on arrivals and departures, check the official website of Vienna Airport.
