Bunnies Block Motorway
The main motorway between Vienna and Budapest was brought to a standstill on Monday when several thousand rabbits escaped from a lorry.
The M1 motorway was officially closed due to the incident, which happened when a lorry crashed some 25 miles west of Budapest. The driver is unhurt, but victims amongst the floppy-eared population are as yet uncertain. In an effort to minimise injury the route has been closed.
However, reports reveal that the bunnies did not dash off into the horizon. Rather, they seemed to be sitting around enjoying the sun. By midday, news was coming in that a large proportion of the rabbits had been secured.
