Low-price airline Easyjet has unveiled plans to fly to Vienna. A service between London Luton and Vienna will begin on October 29th, and the first batch of tickets has already gone on sale.

The news will be greeted with joy by England's football fans, who until now had been short on low cost links to Vienna. England's place in the European Championships remains uncertain, but die-hard football aficionados will be keen to reach Vienna regardless. The Austrian capital will be hosting the grand final of the Euro 2008 Cup as well as a semi and several qualifying matches.

The advent of an Easyjet service also raises the question as to whether Vienna will emerge as a stag night destination, an unexpected complement to the Euro 2008 extravaganza. Opinions will no doubt vary amongst the Viennese as to the value of these pre-nuptial shenanigans.
