The Vatican is embracing the mobile phone revolution in its plans for Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Vienna. Beginning this week, the Holy See is providing a free service that sends excerpts from the Pontiff's sermons to faithful readers across Austria. Each day, a spiritual flash will whizz its way to mobile phones across the country. Quotations from sermons, blessings and writings are all lined up:

"Right through the summer holiday period, there will be carefully selected quotations for thinking about God, the Christian faith, human nature and the meaning of life," the Archdiocese of Vienna revealed on Monday.

The divine dictums will continue right up until the Pope's departure from Austria on September 9th. He will spend three days in the historically Catholic country. Besides celebrating Mass at St. Stephen's Cathedral, the pontiff will visit the shrine of Mariazell and the ancient abbey of Heiligenkreuz.
