In about two weeks, on April 19, around 25,000 runners from over 70 nations will race in the 26th Vienna City Marathon. Every year, over 100,000 viewers gather along the streets to cheer the athletes and to experience the unusual atmosphere.

The marathon course is a 42.2 km-long beautiful run, which shows off Vienna's most wonderful, diverse sights. The marathon starts near the skyscrapers on the Danube and goes along the Reichsbrücke to the wonderful and famous park of the Vienna Prater.

The runners will trot past historical buildings and monuments: the Museums of Natural History and Fine Arts, Parliament, the Vienna State Opera, City Hall and the Burgtheater. The finish area of the Vienna City Marathon is located on one of the most magnificent squares in Vienna called the Heldenplatz. The marathon starts at 9:00 on April 19. Anyone can sign up for the run on http://www.vienna-marathon.com. The sooner the better! The entry fee until March 06 is 54 euros, until April 10 it`s 69, and 90 euros for the late-runners (provided that the number of entries has not exceeded 8.000).
