A Coffee With The Gargoyles

If any city in the world is entitled to host a "Coffee Day" then it must surely be Vienna. And this year, there will be some wonderful one-offs to help us celebrate the caffeine-fuelled cause.

On October 1st, coffee-lovers will be able to enjoy a cup of their favourite brew in the tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral. The high-flying cafe, which will be created some 72 metres above the square, will also be serving sacher-torte and other classics from the confectioner's repertoire.

Given that this unique experience is only being offered for one day, competition for seats is likely to be fierce. However, with a bit of luck you'll be sipping coffee with the pigeons on October 1st.

For info in German, check the official website of the Association of Viennese Coffee House Owners.
