Whirring trams may wrack the nerves as you negotiate your way out of the city, but once freed, hiring a car should seem like one of the best ideas you've made. There are some fantastic spots in striking distance of Vienna, not least in the Wachau region, and Austrian roads are generally very manageable affairs. As you'd expect from a well-established company like Hertz, they'll set you up with pretty much any calibre of vehicle you might fancy, save for Sean Connery's silver Aston Martin with ejector seat. Never mind, you'll just have to make use of the boot like less stylish secret agents. |
