Meinl am Graben

|
Something akin to London's Fortnum and Masons, this outlet is a world apart from the more low key Julius Meinl stores that have popped up in Europe of late. This grand number on the Graben is very much the flagship of the firm, and epicures will have a field day perusing all the edible odds and ends. It's an ideal place to drop by if you're searching for a little something to take back home. And whilst wandering around, you may be tempted by some of Meinl's other little treats. There's an on-site sushi stand, backed up by a wine-bar and an ice cream parlour. Upstairs, the stately restaurant is a favourite for fellows with fat wallets.

We were staying in the Pension Nossek next door and Meinl was a real find. A very snazzy delicatessen plus a restaurant upstairs. Clearly one of the best places of its kind in Vienna.
