Ruthensteiner is one of the many hostels clustered around the Westbahnhof. However, this one has a more homely vibe than most. It's run by Walter Ruthensteiner and his Peruvian wife Erin. They're both impassioned travellers, with long histories of adventure behind them. A groovy garden awaits where you can cross swords in a battle of giant chess, or try your hand on the barbecue. Various musical instruments are also on hand if you really want to annoy your neighbours. Rooms come in singles, doubles, triples, quadruples and dorms. No curfew.
