Wombat's City Hostel Base

Staying in a hostel run by a one-eyed hunchback always adds a dash of colour to your adventures, but it's good to know that once in a while you might actually be able to secure a clean bed. On this front, Wombat's is a bona fide winner. It's twice been voted amongst the top hostels of the world, winning first prize for cleanest hostel in 2003 (only losing out to its sister Munich branch the following year). The guys here are dedicated to ensuring top notch service for their clients, and the on site Wombar is a great place to swap stories with fellow travellers. All rooms have private shower and toilet and there's internet access downstairs. Find the hostel a short walk from the Westbahnhof. And if all's full, you may find a space in their number 2.

I stayed at Wombat Hostel near Westbahnoff for two nights. Its one of the best hostels I ever lived. The staff is cooperative and very helpful. I am sort of guy who never cooked and did not know how to use a laundary machine... its true. They even offered me to help me in using laundary machine. But the instructions written on machine were enough for me...

i stayed at wombat vienna and was so dissapointed in the service there!!! i left my wallet in my room and was on a bus on the way to munich when i realised and i called stressed out as all my cards were in it and a lot of cash and being a traveller needed it back urgently! the staff at the hostel would not even check the room for me told me just to e mail them!! i was shattered being such an important thing 2 more phone calls later and just being fobbed off they insisted someone had walked up! i still dont have my wallet back or any cash and am stuck here untill i work something out when i know for a fact if they had of walked up when i rang i knew where it was they could of helped me out!! happy to take our money and thats as far as it goes !! thanks a lot guys

Wombat hostel was one of the best hostels i have ever had the privilege of falling unconscious in. Never mind Vienna, Wombat is one of the best in the world

drunk some brews in the Wombar before rolling into town. Awesome night.
