Hotel Furst Metternich

|
This pretty pink and blue confection is a lot less terrifying than its namesake, Prince Klemens Metternich. The Prince, better known as 'the Iron Chancellor', was not someone you'd want to get on the wrong side of. However, the Metternich Hotel itself offers old world charm without a secret police presence - and all just a stone's throw from popular shopping promenade Mariahilferstrasse. It's certainly not all imperial nostalgia, the downstairs drinkery 'Barflys' draws a cool crowd of hipsters. The slinkly saloon is one of the top spots for a cocktail in town. |
